Street Drugs & Slang

If you are a parent or loved one of an addict you may not be familiar with Drugs, their street names and the slang often used by addicts. This is a list of commonly abused drugs and other names used by addicts.


Heroin - (Smack) (Skag) (Junk) (H) (China White) (Black Tar) (Fix) (Horse) Heroin is an Opiate, synthesized from morphine. Heroin can be injected, snorted/sniffed, or smoked. Heroin users are at high risk for addiction.Heroin abuse is associated with serious health conditions, including fatal overdose, infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS and hepatitis.

Cocaine - (Coke) (Snow) (Nose Candy) (Flake) (Blow) (Railers) (Crack) (Cola) (White Dust) (Rocks) (Powder) (Big C) (White) (Cane) Cocaine is a powerfully addictive stimulant drug, that comes in powdered form. Commonly snorted, snorting is the process of inhaling cocaine powder through the nose, where it is absorbed into the bloodstream through the nasal tissues. Injecting is the use of a needle to insert the drug directly into the bloodstream. Smoking involves inhaling cocaine vapor or smoke into the lungs, where absorption into the bloodstream is as rapid as it is by injection.

Roxycodone - (roxys) (B's) (Blues) - Roxicodone the brand name for Oxycodone it is an opioid analgesic, Each pill contains 5 mg, 15 mg or 30 mg of oxycodone. Basically the same as Oxycodone but the pills are Blue in color. It is a highly addictive morphine-derived narcotic.

Oxycodone - (Oxies) (O.C's) (Oxycet) Brand names include: OxyContin, Percolone, Roxicodone.. It is used to relieve moderate to severe pain. Oxycodone is in a class of medications called opiate (narcotic) and is extremely addictive.

Dilaudid -  (D's) (Dillies) (Hospital Heroin) (Super 8) (Hydro) Dilaudid or Hydromorphone is a powerful opioid drug that acts as a central nervous depressant, like all other opioid and opiates. It is also an extremely strong painkiller. Can Be snorted or injected, Overdose is common with this type of drug due to it's fast rush, especially when injected.

Ecstasy - (E) (X) (XTC) (Molly) (Candy) (Sweets) MDMA Ecstasy is a designer drug that alleviates all inhibitions and leaves the person who took it in an extreme state of euphoria. A synthetic drug with amphetamine-like and hallucinogenic properties.Molly refers to a purest form of MDMA

Vicodin - (Vics) (Hydros) Vicodin is a combination of hydrocodone (a synthetic narcotic) and acetaminophen (a commonly used pain killer), which is prescribed to treat severe pain.

Xanax -  (Bars) (Barz) Xanax Also called Alprazolam is used to treat anxiety disorders and panic disorder (sudden, unexpected attacks of extreme fear and worry about these attacks). Alprazolam is in a class of medications called benzodiazepines. It works by decreasing abnormal excitement in the brain. 

Acid - (LSD) (CID) (Blotter) (dots) Acid is a powerful hallucinogenic drug that alters your perception of the outside world. LSD can distort perceptions of reality and produce hallucinations; the effects can be frightening and cause panic. It is sold as tablets, capsules, liquid, or on absorbent paper.
